Murfy’s editor lets you manage your files, directly edit and update each document, and preview the results in real time as you write.

  1. Click the settings icon to choose the compile method for each project.

  2. Set the compile format, main .tex file, and enable document checking before you start editing.

    1. Compile Format

      1. pdfLaTeX: This is the default compile format.

      2. XeLaTeX: Use this format for better Korean rendering support.

    2. Main .tex File: This is the primary .tex file in your project that will be used to generate the final PDF.

      1. Once you select a main file, compilation will begin immediately using the selected version.

    3. Document Checker: LaTeX documents are scanned for syntax and command errors in real time, helping you identify and fix issues quickly.

Murfy supports shortcut codes that let you write simplified formulas based on standard LaTeX expressions.

In the editor, you can instantly preview the rendered PDF output of your edits,

as well as check for any errors or missing LaTeX commands in real time.

  1. To instantly preview the content you're writing in the editor, press Ctrl + S.

    The rendered PDF will appear immediately on the right side of the screen.

  2. Alternatively, you can click the PDF Rendering button at the top right corner.

    This will also generate and display the rendered PDF on the right side.

Double-Click to Navigate and Highlight

  1. Double-clicking text in the editor will automatically highlight and focus the corresponding section in the rendered preview.

  2. Double-clicking text in the rendered preview will highlight and focus the matching section in the editor.

You can switch between Split View, which lets you see the editor and the rendered PDF side by side, and Single View, which allows you to focus on the editor only.

You can match the width and height ratio of the rendered PDF view for optimal display.

Zooming in and out can be done using the control buttons, or freely adjusted with a trackpad or mouse wheel.

In split view mode, you can freely resize the editor and rendered PDF panels by clicking and dragging the center divider between them.

If the syntax checker is enabled in your project settings, you can detect grammar issues and missing LaTeX commands in real time as you write in the editor.

  1. You can view the log and output files next to the PDF Render button.

  2. Warnings, errors, and successful outputs are visually distinguished by different component colors.

    A status bar at the top displays the number of each type.

    Clicking on any component allows you to view detailed information about that status.

    1. When you click on an error message, you’ll be taken directly to the corresponding line in the editor.

To download your paper, click the Download icon. The document will be saved to your local device.

The table of contents allows you to see the structure of the currently open .tex file at a glance, and quickly navigate to any section you want.
